Install the awRAG.io browser extension from the official marketplaces (free) or download the latest beta ZIP manually.

Tip: Install from the official browser extension pages for automatic updates. For the latest beta build, use the manual ZIP download below and follow the After-install steps in each section, or watch the install video at the bottom of this page.

Manual installation (all Chromium-based browsers)

  1. Download and unzip the ZIP file above.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions, opera://extensions) in your browser.
  3. Enable Developer mode (top-right toggle).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. The awRAG.io extension icon appears in your toolbar; pin it for quick access.

Note: All Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, Opera, Comet) share the Chrome Web Store and use the same extension ZIP. Manually installed extensions do not auto-update. Re-download the ZIP here for future versions, or switch to the Chrome Web Store install for automatic updates.

After installation, connect your awRAG.io account

  1. Open the awRAG.io app at awrag.io/app and sign in (or create a free account).
  2. In the sidebar navigation, open Account and create a new API key.
  3. Copy the generated API key to your clipboard.
  4. Click the awRAG.io extension icon in your browser toolbar; the connection popup appears.
  5. Paste the API key into the input field and click Connect.
  6. Once connected, two floating buttons appear in the lower-right corner of supported AI platforms for quick access: the bottom button opens search, the upper button toggles the side panel. The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L (Cmd+Shift+L on Mac) also opens the side panel anywhere.

Manual installation (Firefox)

  1. Download and unzip the ZIP file above.
  2. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox in a new Firefox tab.
  3. Click Load Temporary Add-on….
  4. Select any file inside the unzipped folder (e.g. manifest.json).
  5. The awRAG.io extension loads temporarily; it remains installed until Firefox restarts.

Note: Temporary add-ons are removed when Firefox closes and do not auto-update. For a permanent install with auto-updates, use the Firefox Add-ons (AMO) install above. For signed-permanent installs, the AMO version is required; Firefox refuses to permanently install unsigned ZIPs by default.
